Bill Nye The Science Guy: Digestion Classroom Edition

Great video
I wish they had included excretion, but the first stages of digestion are well covered. As always, the models presented clarify the information and the humor engages the children.

How Wonderful!!!
The video was excellent. My students enjoyed every part, especially the music video at the end. They had to try it out themselves.

Bill Nye The Science Guy: Genes Classroom Edition

Keeps the attention of a giant class of 8th graders.
All 45 of my 8th graders watched this episode after lunch and paid attention. What can I say? it is a Bill Nye Video.

Disney pricing
I remember Bill Nye being very good and he probably still is, but $49 for a 20 minute DVD is absurd. The folks at Disney need to get a handle on their egos. I can get a 12 hour lecture series from the Teaching Company for $69. I love Amazon, but this product is ridiclously over-priced.

Bill Nye The Science Guy: The Sun Classroom Edition

The kids love it!
I bought this for my son's 3rd grade class. The kids love watching these videos and I was able to help out the teacher too!

Excellent for introduction to studies of nature
Bill Nye series are great for introducing kids to science in a fun way and sparking their interest in study of nature. Bill talks about how nature works with many jokes, stunts, and other entertaining ways.

They are not for teaching formal science literacy of issues such as how to set up and experiment, how to gather data, derive conclusions from results, basically not about how you think about stuff as a scientist.

Bill is now the head of the Planetary Society trying to promote space exploration. I don't know if he still makes these DVDs.
